How to Use Remote Desktop on Windows 8



Remote desktop is a built-in function on Windows 8 that allows you to remotely connect to another computer on any network and control it. This is a commonly used tool for technical support. Just make sure that you're using remote desktop with someone you trust! Get started with Step 1 below.

Steps

Search for "remote" in the Start screen and select "Remote desktop connection" under the "Apps" area.



2  Click "show options" in the Remote Desktop Connection screen.





3  Type in the address for the computer you want to connect to on your network where it says "Computer." Click "Open" if you have a computer connection saved already.



4  Click on the "Display" tab and select the color quality that you want.



5  Click on "Local resources" and select your audio settings, as well as the local devices you want access to
